WakeMK Ladies Mornings returned in the sun!

The sun gods were in our favour as WakeMK hosted their first Ladies Morning of the season. Girls are solar powered as we all know and so with the sun beaming down, the dock was filled with the old gang, some warmly welcomed regulars returning after injuries and a nice helping of beginners for the first session of the season. Lex Balladon and Sarah Kingdom were on hand coaching with doubles help from resident Chloe Goudie, but a new addition to the proceedings was the great sponsorship of Sharm Kurup of Kurup Fit. Sharm gathered everyone and got the morning started with a great warm up and then the girls were ready to go… not before a good catch up on all the winter gossip!

With more double ups than usual, this session struck a good balance between getting the beginners comfortable and up on their boards but also giving the more established riders more attention. We were particularly pleased to see those returning after injury airing on the side of caution and taking things gently for their first time back on the water.

As always we had a number of success stories, however this session there were a total of five prizes to give out! The WAW Goody bag was awarded to Amy Carter who progressed from just making the first corner, to riding complete laps switch no less.

Lex awarded the 2Seasons vouchers to Emma Knowles for her resilience and determination and the Nalu Bead prize went to Ema Brunners for showing dramatic improvement in her rail riding. Sharm had KurupFit Personal Training voucher awarded to Kelly Hebden for showing her grit following major shoulder surgery and WakeMK’s Mark Robinson contributed a One-on-One coaching session with a WakeMK resident pro, which was awarded to Hayley Ashley… then he let all the ladies ride for another hour… for FREE!

Fantastic start to the season, with great support from WakeMK, Nalu Beads, 2 Seasons, Kurup Fit and of course the WAW Goody Bags! The next WakeMK ladies Morning will be SUNDAY MAY 20th.
