Sheffield 10 Feet high 2012 Stop 1 Results

Last Saturday marked the return of Sheffield’s Ten Feet High Cable Competition for 2012; the start of the tenth anniversary of the series. The competition that’s successfully introduced many to the world of cable wakeboard competing, from rookies and groms through to pros, hosted with its usual fun family atmosphere. It’s never dull at Sheffield, and this was no exception, despite the cold on Saturday, where grown men are ‘bullied’ into downing Birthday pints, only to back out and be overtaken by a lady, the rousing atmosphere is infectious. We love it up in Sheffield.

The weather was cold, even by local standards, but the riders still headed out, fewer in numbers than on warmer occasions, but all ages got involved in the Rookies, from young Jessie Knight to winner of the ‘old farts’ division Mike Jones!

There were few girls in Open Ladies this time around, but Kirsteen Mitchell took 1st place unsurprisingly and JBSki’s Sarah Kingdom and WakeMK’s young Lottie Harbottle battled it out for 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Sheffield’s Ten Feet High series really is a great event to experience the fun of a cable competition, so head over for the remaining stops over the season. The next stop is Sat 16th June 2012.

Thanks to Ian Trundell and Jo Jeffries for the photos.
