Ropes and Wires 2011 – team ‘Tuff E Nuff’ win for the girls
At the weekend, Box End Park hosted their annual team boat and cable event, the season finale, Ropes and Wires. The format firmly fixed on the ‘fun’ factor, sees teams of 4 show off their worth as a group jam on the cable and then an allocated time on the boat. Individual scores are then gathered to build overall team scores. Riders who’ve been competing against one another all year, at this event, get to ride together and pitch their strengths for the overall team effort. Ropes and Wires is the ultimate year ender.
Due to a number of unforeseen circumstances; last minute work commitments, injury niggles and holidays, there weren’t as many girls as first anticipated, however the strong teams of ‘Tuff E Nuff’ and ‘Team Military Girls’, more than made the girls’ presence felt. For some it was their first ever competition, others only had a handful of boat sets under their belt. And that is the beauty of this event; it’s the perfect introduction to competition with the support of team mates to guide you along.
This competition doesn’t follow any strict association rules, so within the basic frame of competition, there’s room for a little ‘artistic licence’ for catching the judges eye! Interpret at will, but in this competition ‘fashion airs’ and blowing kisses to the judges all counts when making an overall impression.

Team ‘Tuff E Nuff’ came out on top, but it was a victory all round for the women of Ropes and Wires producing plenty of mumbles of ‘next year I’m going to get a team together’. Well done girls and Box End Park for hosting such a great event. We hope to see lots more of you next year.
“Ropes and Wires is the best event to end a great year of riding. Socialising, wakeboarding, partying and smiles what could be better?”
Megzy Barker, Team ‘Tuff E Nuff’
‘Ropes and Wires was epic! It was so good to be in a team alongside the girls I had been competing against all season…what a brilliant way to end the season! And it was so relaxed and not at all stressie. It was great to see all standards of riding both on boat and cable. Seriously anything goes and there are points for waves and kisses and everyone is so supportive!! I would recommend it to everyone as an amazing day out. It would be great to see more girls there next year sharing the fun and the uber prize bags!!’
Laura Christian, Team ‘Tuff E Nuff’
‘Ropes & Wires was a great way to end the season - totally relaxed team competition with the girls, lots of riding time and good laughs! Riding in team ‘tuff e nuff’ was awesome!!:)’
Katie Batchelor, Team ‘Tuff E Nuff’
“For a wakeboarding novice and competition virgin, Ropes and Wires was definitely a great way to get involved without having the spotlight beaming down piling on the pressure. I’ll admit I was still nervous stood on the dock however! I now have the competition bug and am going to be training hard this winter. Fun way to round off my first season on the water!”
Charlie Hay, Team Forces
“By the end of the season, it’s easy to get a bit of ‘competition fatigue’, but the brilliant format of Ropes and Wires guarantees that a fantastic fun event rounds off the season nicely. The team element is the winning formula for me, nothing beats having team mates to spur you on”
Sarah Kingdom, Team ‘Tuff E Nuff’
“All the girls teams competing in Ropes and Wires wished each other well, spurred each other on and had fun riding together. It was a shame more girls didn’t ride on the day. Although yes, it is a competition, Ropes and Wires is relaxed, fun and well worth every penny of the entry fee”
