Elke Venken Ice Winching!

Wakeboarding really took a back seat this past winter as the whole of Europe had a particularly cold one. But whilst the ice was sufficient excuse for most of us to reach for the duvet and snuggle down to watch repeats of Glee, some reached for the pick axe instead!

Belgian Wakeboarding toughy Elke Venken, took ‘riding like the boys’ to the extreme this winter! We stumbled across Elke’s little winching sessions over the off season, during the coldest winter northern Europe has seen for years!
Some girls just can’t be stopped by anything!

This little session took place only minutes from Elke’s house in Belgium, at the end of January in temperatures of only 3 degrees! We think you’ll agree that this is some devotion to wakeboarding and testament to the passion that the girls are demonstrating!

The Slingshot, Kustom and Protest rider came to our shores for Wakestock 2009 riding both the boat contest and the Girls’Rail Jam, then followed that up with a 4th place at the World Games in Taiwan.

For 2010, Elke plans to ride her heart out, hitting as many winch spots and rails on her Slingshot flex board as possible, all the while, having as much fun as she knows how.

Slingshot are available at WakeMK and Sheffield Cable parks for demo and purchase.
