Cable Wakeboard Europeans 2009 Results Day 1
The cable wakeboard Europeans got off to a great start yesterday at the Midnight Sun Wake Festival, Ukkohalla, Finland. With gorgeous blue sky and 25° the rider had the perfect conditions for the first qualification rounds.
In the junior ladies first to qualify for saturdays final were Mayanka Jansen (NL), who landed her first S-Bend ever and Victoria Young (GBR) from group A, followed by Sophia Marie Reimers (GER) and Sophy Codery (GBR) from group B. The third GB rider Ellie Taylor has to go to LCQ on Friday.
In the Open Ladies category the first places in the finals went to Kirsteen Mitchell (GBR), Steph Caller (GBR), Kathrin Oegretici (GER) and Astrid Schabransky (AUT). The current ladies no 1, Maxine Sapulette, missed her flight and didn’t make to Finland in time for the qualification rounds so will only have one chance in the LCQ to fight for her place in the finals.
