Box End Ladies Morning August 9th

With a slight change to the usual ‘first Sunday of the Month’, Box End are bringing you their popular Ladies Morning a week later on Sunday 9th August instead. If last month’s is anything to go by, this promises to be a cracking morning with the girls really pushing themselves guided by the helping hands of Justin, Chloe and Sarah K.

Last month, with the support of WAW, Box End saw a fantastic surge of enthusiasm from their ladies with a mixed range of age and abilities. It was a great illustration of how women’s wakeboarding is for absolutely everybody regardless of sporting experience, or proficiency. At Box End it’s all about having fun and trying something new.

imageThe ladies on the dock at 9am sharp, fully suited and booted, had fun, lots of fun and achieved things of greatness that morning! Here at WAW we’re keen encourage the ladies to take the next step, nudge that comfort zone and surprise yourself, and it was great to see that every single rider tried and achieved something new that morning. There were complete first timers moving effortlessly from the knee boards to wakeboards, riders hitting the kickers for the first time, wakeboarders making not only corner 3 but 4 for the first time and riders trying and successfully riding switch. There were a lot of silly grins on the dock from women who, with a bit of encouragement and nudging, challenged themselves and made the day worth getting out of bed for! The hardest part of any new trick is the first time it’s attempted, fear of the unknown, and all the Box End Ladies breezed through it smiling and probably feeling quite chuffed with themselves..

A WAW goodie bag was awarded to the rider of the day showing most progress and there was one clear outstanding achiever. Harriet Coles was a total novice and in less than two hours, through her thirst for learning and absolute new found passion for wakeboarding, made the transition from knee board, to wakeboard, to 3 full laps clear, to slide 180 to riding switch. That we think you’ll all agree is a pretty astonishing learning curve for a couple of hours! Well done Harriet.

So if you want to come and give it a go or feel like you’ve reached a bit of a ‘dead end’ and aren’t sure what to try next, make sure you get along to the Sunday Ladies session where you’ll be pointed in the right direction and no doubt be swept along with the wave of girls achieving greatness!!
