2011 Relentless Pro Tour
After an incredible UK Cable Wakeboard & Wakeskate Nationals weekend at WMSki, with some of the most progressive riding seen in the UK to date, we are all set for an epic start to the Relentless UK Pro Tour.
It all gets going this Saturday, 30th July, at Sheffield Cable, the Relentless home of wakeboarding in the north. The Nationals has given everyone a taste of the action to come and also shed some light on who are the power players this season. There is no doubt that Declan Clifford, after winding up second overall to James Young on the 2010 tour is keen to bump up to top spot and with the Open Men National Cable title in the bag, he certainly has the momentum behind him. James Young is not to be discounted however, lying in wait at the Nationals saving his strength for the Pro Tour and as current number three in the world after the WWA World Championships at the end of last season, he is more than capable of fending off the competition.
News hot off the press on the rider line-up front is that non other than wakeboarding wonder kid Daniel Grant is in town and up for a bit of Pro Tour action. With a massive collection of titles under his belt at the tender age of 13, Daniel, alongside Singapore based rider Alex Bennet-Lea who’s also riding this weekend, only add to the unrivalled action set to come.

The Pro Women’s contest will be no less fierce courtesy of an every increasing line up of female talent. Current World, National and Tour champion, Kirsteen Mitchell has left the door wide open at this first stop having to bow out through injury. Levelling the playing field for the likes of Steph Caller, World Junior Girls Champ, Chloe Goudie and a whole new set of youngsters keen to get a hold of the Pro Tour title in 2011. The status quo is also likely to be unsettled further by the return of Kustom team rider Tor Young, who has already claimed her first podium finish at the recent Cable Nationals after a year out!
